Another year is drawing to a close – and contrary to all expectations, we are still living in and with Corona and in year 2 of the pandemic.

With the French Revolution, a new counting of the year began … no – of course, in Christian world affairs it began with the birth of Christ, which was fixed at the year zero.

Then are we on the eve of the third stage of a New Year count? Hopefully not!

Regardless of all perspectives and attitudes to the pandemic, politics and how we deal with it – let’s stay fair in our behavior and relationships with one another.

The space on this planet is as limited as the air we breathe, the water we drink, the time we have here.

Treating each other fairly is not something that makes us poorer or that demands tremendous performance from us.

It is an ethical attitude, knowing that we are all a miracle of nature, of creation, and that we should give one another more than we should take.

With this in mind, I wish you and all of you, including on behalf of my fiancée Ellen Balsewitsch-Oldach, a peaceful Christmas and a hopefully healthy start to the New Year – whatever it may be and in a fair search, together and not against each other to shape the coming days, weeks and months.
